TagTemp
Temperature Datalogger
|
|
Description |
|
|
|
The
TagTemp is a small low-cost portable temperature datalogger. Its'
internal sensor measures local environmental temperatures and logs
readings in internal memory. Logged data can be later viewed and
analyzed on a PC in both tabular and graphical forms. A unique
feature of the TempTag logger is the built-in infra-red communication
interface, leaving behind cables and accessories. Through this IR
interface, the user can easily configure the application and download
stored data from the logger to, for example, portable devices
compatible with Palm-OS or Windows

Description |
|

The
TagTemp is a small low-cost portable temperature datalogger. Its'
internal sensor measures local environmental temperatures and logs
readings in internal memory.
The
LogChart-II software is provided with the TagTemp and is intended
for configuring the logger parameters (start/stop, log interval etc)
and is also the tool used for analysis of the logged data. The data
can also be exported to other applications such as Excel.
The
communication between the PC and the TagTemp is taken care by either
an RS232 or USB IR interface.

The
TagTemp is configured using the included LogChart-II software. Data
is transmitted to the Penguin through an Infrared wand connected to
the PC's RS232 or USB port. The Parameter Configuration window in
LogChart lets you configure the following parameters:
After
the logging session is complete, data can then be downloaded again
by LogChart and displayed in table and chart formats. Data files can
then be saved as ASCII text files for importation into common Spreadsheets.

Most
of the functionality of the LogChart II is available for the PDA
Palm running the LogChart PalmOS software. The program is supplied
with the logger. The program is installed on the Palmtop through a
HotSync process (data synchronization between a Palmtop and a PC).
Starting
the LogChart PalmOS application will display the Recorded Data
screen on the Palm where it is possible to access the LogBox
configuration to change settings and collect data, as well as to
access collected data.
HotSync
of data stored in a PDA to a PC is performed through a conduit
installed together with the LogChart Palm-OS. The conduit converts
the data collected by the LogChart Palm-OS to a file compatible with
the LogChart-II software.
