The EDAM-8510 can be used to expand your RS422 or RS485 network, to increase it's range to 1.2km and to increase the number of connected devices to more than the usual 32. The EDAM-8510 automatically detects the baud rate and provides 3000 Vdc of isolation to protect the host computer from ground loops and destructive voltage spikes.

The EDAM-8510 repeater boosts the RS-422/485 signals to extend the RS422 or RS485 network to up to 1.2km in length and increases the maximum number of connected slave devices to up to 128. The number of  slave devices can be further increased by adding addition EDAM-8510s. The  EDAM-8510 is able to automatically detect the data flow and switch the direction of the data lines accordingly. "Auto baud rate detector" enables the EDAM-8510 to automatically configure RS-422/485 signals to any baud rate without external switch setting. Build in Opto-isolators provides 3000 Vdc of isolation to protect the host computer from ground loops and destructive voltage spikes on the RS-422/485 data lines. The EDAM-8510 also has internal surge-protection on the data lines. Internal high-speed transient suppressors on each data line protect the module from dangerous voltages levels or spikes.
