LPVB-1 Site-Log Datalogger - Voltage

Description

The Site-Log LPVB-1 is an 7-channel, battery powered, stand alone voltage data logger. The logger records up to 4Mb of data and stores it in non-volatile flash memory for later retrieval. Input voltage signals can be from sensors, transducers, transmitters or any other common voltage sources.

Featuring an aluminum enclosure and conformal coating PCB, the Site-Log data logger has excellent performance in the harshest industrial environment. Featuring a 16-bit ADC and programmable input range, the Site-Log data loggers are well suited to science and laboratory applications where precise and accurate measurement is critical.

Description

The Site-Log datalogger range are portable battery powered data loggers which allow recording information and saving measurements to a 4MB flash memory for later retrieval. The internal lithium battery provides up to 10 years of instantaneous logging operation when sampling at interval of one minute. Site-Log data loggers features a wide sampling interval range from 20 milliseconds to 12 hours, providing alternative to data acquisition devices and paper chart recorders.

Site-Log data logger contains one internal thermistor channel, and seven external process signal channels. The 16-bit analog-to-digital converter makes the measurements more precise and accurate. Besides the on-board thermistor channel, the LPVB-1 logger has seven external voltage DC channels used to measure single-ended voltage DC signals maximum of 20 volt. The following figure illustrates the correct input connections:

The Site-Log data logger also provides alarm outputs controlled by the low and high programmable alarm thresholds of each enabled channel. The alarm control outputs can be used to turn on/off external alarm devices such as strobe lights, sirens or alarm telephone diallers.

Site-Log data logger also has an excitation control output used to switch the power supply of the external transducer/transmitter, so that these are only powered during a reading, saving on transducer battery consumption.

Site-Log data logger also has a rugged, splash resistant aluminum enclosure and internal electronics are protected against moisture ingress by conformal coating.

All Site-Log series data loggers come with an USB and an AUX ports. The USB port is for connecting directly to the computer. The AUX port is for connecting to a serial communication device like a Modem or an Serial Device Server when the logger needs to be accessed remotely.

SiteView Software

SiteView is a PC based application which works with Site-Log Series data loggers for downloading, configuration and data analysing and plotting. Its user-friendly graphic interface plus powerful functionalities fit both novice and advanced users.

The versatility of custom equation and custom-line equation handle complicated measurement requirements.

Ethernet and Modem Support

There is an AUX port for connecting to a serial communication device like a Modem or an Serial Device Server when the logger needs to be accessed remotely. A SL-Rs232 converter cable is available that terminates in a standard RS232 connector.

SL-RS232

SL-RS232 Converter is used to convert Site-Log data logger's TTL level communication signal to RS232 standard.

Applications of SL-RS232 Converter:

  • Computer only has COM port : If the computer does not have any USB port, or if you want to use COM port of the computer to communicate with a Site-Log data logger.

  • Host device is not computer: If the host device is not a computer but it has a RS232 communications port.

RS232 to Ethernet Converters

A range of general purpose RS232 to Ethernet or WiFi converters to allow the Site-Log range to be configured and read over a LAN or WiFi Network (requires the SL-RS232)

WirelessCOM/G10 GPRS Modem

The WirelessCOM/G10 will allow the Site-Log range to be configured and read remotely over a GPRS mobile phone network (requires the SL-RS232 and a suitable GPRS SIM Card))
