The
IP9280 system consists of 2 basic parts, the main IP9280 control
unit and up to 8 PCI cards which are fited to spare PCI slots in the
target server/PC (just a bracket slot is required, not a PCI
connector). The PCI cards are then connected to the IP9280 control
unit via standard RJ45 cable. (This is NOT your LAN, but dedicated
cable that just connects the PCI card to the IP9280). The PCI card
has connections to the target Server/PC power supply, case and
motherboard RESET and POWER connectors. The PCI card works in
parallel with the case POWER and RESET buttons.

The
IP9280 control unit is connected to your LAN and the IPEdit utility
run to set up the unit's IP address. Thereafter, all configuration
settings are performed via the IP-9280's built-in webserver.
